PULP
PULP is a generative art experiment that combines geometric abstraction with blockchain mechanics to create a unique, collaborative art experience. Drawing inspiration from the pioneers of geometric abstraction and the Bauhaus movement, PULP reimagines how art can be created and owned collectively.
Artistic Inspiration
The project’s visual language draws from several key geometric abstractionists:
- Josef Albers: His exploration of color theory and nested geometric forms influences our use of triangular shapes and their interactions
- Ilya Bolotowsky: His neo-plasticist approach to geometric balance informs our dynamic composition system
- Piet Mondrian: Taking cues from his grid-based compositions and primary color theory
- Lyubov Popova: Her constructivist approach to geometric forms and dynamic compositions
- Alfred Waldheim: His systematic approach to geometric patterns and their variations
Innovation in Art Creation
PULP introduces a novel approach to collaborative onchain art creation:
- Each mint adds a new shape to the composition
- The placement and color of each shape is determined algorithmically
- The pattern completion is randomized, creating an element of chance
- When the pattern completes, the final collector receives 80% of the pool
- Every mint contributes to both the artwork and the prize pool
- The mechanics create a unique tension between artistic contribution and potential reward
